Daily Show with Chris Sawyer featuring                      Dr. Bonnie Mackey                       Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner

Bonnie’s approach to the client is what sets her practice apart from others.  That fundamental approach relies on understanding that the person is the center of the visit and one who drives that visit.  Bonnie believes in giving focused attention and sufficient time to attend to an individual’s needs.  She also recognizes that the person with the health issue usually has the most reliable information and a good sense of what is wrong.  Their information is the very link between all test information, and with the totality of this information, a plan of care specific to the individual’s needs is co-created.  She fosters the co-creation of one’s health plan based on shared facts and feelings.

As a certified functional medicine nurse practitioner in private practice for over 30 years, Bonnie may order conventional and specialized tests that provide new knowledge of body and brain chemistry where biochemical communication continuously weaves through the body and mind, allowing the whole person to function on a cellular level, either in a balanced or imbalanced state.  Bonnie explores these chemical pathways and discovers where along the pathways that the chemistry is disturbed; consequently, uncovering the deeper cause that contributed to that disturbance.

Through her many years in practice, Bonnie has observed that education, specific to the individual’s situation, is empowering.  Individuals in the  pursuit of health and wellness are encouraged to build a solid health base, with knowledge gained through education, as being a significant part of that base.  Bonnie provides education and usable tools designed to cultivate sustainable natural health. She offers continuous inspiration for individuals to recognize and embrace their innate ability to self-correct and self-heal, without over-testing and over-treating.  Bonnie welcomes anyone into the practice who is interested in learning how to stay well and has the willingness to do the work to stay well.
